Our Mission
At PBSC we envision a society with accessible legal systems, where the dignity and rights of every person are upheld. Our mission is to provide free legal support to people and communities facing barriers to justice. Across Canada, around 1,500 PBSC volunteers provide approximately 120,000 hours of free support to nearly 400 organizations across the country. While we are proud of PBSC’s long history of impact, we recognize that there is still much work to be done.

Hope is not something you feel before you act. It is something that grows because you act. Thank you for the example you are setting. For your commitment to service, for your engagement with your community, and for showing us what it looks like to practice hope.

PBSC UVIC is grateful for the generous support we receive from our funders and partners

My PBSC placement was one of the highlights of 1L; I met amazing community advocates, learned a lot about the organizations that support workers across the province, and got to practice my legal research and writing skills in an engaging and meaningful way.
